This project was designed to simulate a Google Search Ads campaign for a local fitness center, FitZone Gym, located in Hubli. The goal was to generate qualified leads for gym memberships and personal training programs using a focused, conversion-driven search strategy.

The campaign aimed to improve brand visibility, increase membership inquiries, and reduce cost-per-lead (CPL) through strategic keyword targeting, ad copy testing, and performance optimization.

As a PPC Strategist & Campaign Manager, I handled the end-to-end process including:

  • Competitor and keyword research

  • Campaign structure creation and budget planning

  • Crafting ad copies and extensions

  • Setting up conversion tracking strategy

  • Performance monitoring and optimization plan

  • Simulated reporting and analysis

I acted as the complete digital marketing strategist, managing the campaign as if it were live — focusing on data-driven decision-making and ROI improvement.

FitZone Gym is a neighborhood fitness studio that offers personal training, group classes, and nutrition guidance. Despite being in a prime area, the gym struggled to attract consistent new memberships due to:

  • Limited online visibility

  • Heavy competition from nearby franchise gyms

  • Reliance on word-of-mouth marketing

They wanted to tap into Google Ads to reach potential customers actively searching for gyms nearby and convert them into leads via a simple website landing page or lead form.

After analyzing the gym’s market and current online presence, I identified key problem areas:

  1. Low Local Search Visibility: The gym didn’t appear on top search results for keywords like “gym near me” or “fitness classes in Hubli.”

  2. Unoptimized Landing Page: Their landing page lacked clear CTAs and lead forms, leading to poor conversion potential.

  3. Generic Messaging: Their ad content and social media posts didn’t emphasize value propositions like certified trainers, flexible timings, or special offers.

  4. Poor Audience Targeting: They weren’t leveraging local intent-driven searchers ready to take action.

These insights shaped my strategy for campaign structure, keyword focus, and ad messaging.

Audience & Keyword Research

  • Conducted keyword analysis using Google Keyword Planner.

  • Selected high-intent, local search terms:

    • “Best gym near me”

    • “Affordable gym membership Hubli”

    • “Personal fitness trainer Hubli”

    • “Gym with personal training Hubli”

  • Created ad groups focused on different intent levels:

    • Membership Joiners (conversion-focused)

    • Fitness Enthusiasts (awareness-focused)

Campaign Structure & Budgeting

  • Campaign Type: Search Campaign (Leads Objective)

  • Location Targeting: 10 km radius of Hubli

  • Daily Budget: ₹500

  • Bidding Strategy: Maximize Conversions

  • Ad Extensions: Call, Location, and Sitelink Extensions (e.g., “View Membership Plans”)

Ad Copy Development

Created multiple variations of ad copies highlighting offers and USPs:

Headline 1: Join Hubli’s Top Gym Today
Headline 2: Personal Trainers & Free Diet Plan
Description: Get fit this season! Limited-time membership discounts. Call now or visit FitZone Gym, Hubli.

Focused on emotional triggers like transformation, affordability, and limited-time offers.

Landing Page Optimization Plan

  • Added a lead capture form above the fold.

  • Created clear CTAs: “Book Free Trial” / “Get Membership Quote.”

  • Optimized for mobile and fast load speed.

  • Added trust elements: testimonials, Google map, images of facility.

Conversion Tracking Setup

  • Defined conversions as form submissions and click-to-call actions.

  • Created a mock conversion tracking structure using Google Tag Manager (simulation).

Final Outcome:

Through strategic keyword selection, location targeting, and continuous A/B testing, the simulated campaign demonstrated how a small local business like FitZone Gym could leverage Google Search Ads to:

  • Reach high-intent local audiences
  • Drive measurable inquiries
  • Build a sustainable lead generation funnel within limited budgets
